Bring your own boat's Garmin or Humminbird and learn it on the water with Captain John. In two hours he'll show you how to read your electronics, mark brush piles and put yourself on fish.
A fish finder only pays off when you trust what you're seeing. Plenty of anglers buy a new unit, mount it and never get past the default screen. The Navigational Trip fixes that. You learn on your own Garmin or Humminbird, on Lake Lanier, so everything carries straight over to your next day on the water.
Lanier is big, deep and clear, and much of its best crappie cover sits out of sight. John targets black crappie year-round over submerged brush in 15 to 25 feet of water, exactly the kind of structure you need electronics to find. Learning on the lake you fish means the spots, depths and settings are the ones you'll actually use.
New boat owners, anglers who just upgraded their electronics and anyone tired of idling around Lanier hoping to stumble onto fish. It works for both Garmin and Humminbird units.
Lessons are $250 for two hours, with starts at 7, 9 and 11 AM and 1, 3 and 5 PM. On John's calendar, choose the Navigational Trip and pick an open time. Veterans and first responders get a discount; just mention it when you book.
